This painting was my first oil! After many years of painting watercolours in the Chinese brush style, I decided to return to a more western way of working, and a friend made me a small hand-mounted canvas to experiment with.
I enjoyed the experiment, but the fumes made me quite ill, so I went looking for a water-based alternative. At my local art store I admitted I hadn't tried acrylics in about thirty years. The assistant laughed, told me "acrylics have changed a lot", and showed me an incredible spectrum of colours. I have been happily painting in acrylics ever since.
The original is for sale. Contact me for details. It is also available as a fine art print, framed or unframed.
